Client Ownership & Access Policy

One of the most common complaints we hear from contractors is this: “My old agency owns my website, my Google profile, or my domain, and won’t give it back.” That should never happen. This client ownership policy explains what you own, what access we need, and what happens if you leave.

What do I own when I work with RankAutomate Agency?

Client ownership policy: you own your Google Business Profile, website, domain and analytics

You own everything tied to your business: your Google Business Profile, website, domain name, Google Analytics and Search Console, call-tracking numbers set up for you, ad accounts, and the content and photos created for your business. We work inside your accounts with manager-level access. We never take primary ownership.

What access do you need?

  • Google Business Profile: manager access. You stay primary owner.
  • Website: an editor or admin user in your name, which you can remove at any time.
  • Analytics and Search Console: user access added by you.
  • Domain and hosting: stay in your name. We only ask for access if a specific fix needs it.

What happens if I cancel?

  1. Give 30 days’ notice. Plans are month-to-month.
  2. We hand over a summary of work done and any logins we created for you.
  3. You remove our access, or we remove ourselves on request.
  4. Everything stays in your accounts. Nothing is taken down.

What if my previous agency controls my accounts?

We’ll help you start recovering them. Google has an ownership request process for Business Profiles, and domain registrars have their own transfer processes. See our guide on Google Business Profile ownership.

Google explains how ownership requests work in its guide to Business Profile owners and managers. Under our client ownership policy, we help you through that process.

How do you handle my data?

We use your business data only to deliver your service, and we don’t share client details or results publicly without written permission. See our privacy policy.
